Angel or Demon?

I just wanted to inform you all that my son is perfect. He can do no wrong.
See? Look at this angel face!
OR NOT!
So, it's like a little mischief light went on in this kid's head.
As soon as I tell him to/not to do something, he gets that "Oh yeah?" look on his face with that mischevious grin and just goes on doing EXACTLY the opposite of what I want him to do, or not do...
like running away from me when he gets out of the tub
or bugging the dog
(taunting her with his food, or her own treats, and laughing his evil little laugh and running away from her; or poking, prodding and pulling on her until she can't take it anymore and lets out a cry for help)

Or playing in the trash

Or banging the blinds

Or pulling all of my clothes off their hangers

Or playing in the toilet

Or unraveling all the toilet paper

Or pushing the buttons on the Wii

Or spitting whatever he's drinking EVERYWHERE

Or making a b-line for the street as soon as he steps out of the front door

Or... well... you get the idea

And so I find myself taking a deep breath tonight and realizing that this is only the beginning of raising a boy and wondering what I have gotten myself into. But then I think of the times when he voluntarily hugs me and says "I luh loo" (translation: "I love you"), or when no one else in the world besides "ma ma" can make the tears go away and that's when I know it's worth it. But sometimes I wonder... is he my angel or my little demon?

Easter 2009

It has become a Weitzell family tradition to have an Easter Egg hunt the day before Easter. Usually we try to do it at a park due to the number of kids (which, by the way, grows every year) not being proportional to the size of any of our houses. This year, however, our park hunt was rained out so we improvised with a search around Wendi's house. It was chaotic, but fun!

Just one question...

What is in those easter eggs??

Bretton figured out real quick that there is good stuff inside

Some of Adam's family:
Lisa holding Dallon (who you can't really see), Clarissa, Jared
Brandee (Aaron's fiance-congrats Aaron!), Aaron, Ian, Justin, Brenden

Clarissa... the lone female in a garden of boys!

Some of the boys blowing up peeps.
Haven't tried it? Oh... highly recommended!
Especially when you have a war between 2, but that's a story for another time.

Easter Morning:
How pathetic are these baskets??
Can you tell which one is our only child's?

Daddy's not ready to be awake, but wanted to see his boy get his first Easter basket.

Easter Dinner:

It is an Epperson family tradition to do an egg fight on Easter. Contrary to popular belief, we do not throw eggs at each other... although that would make it interesting!

You take two hard boiled eggs and hit them end to end like so:

(No comment on what was said to make me laugh so hard. Mostly cause I was the one who said it...)

and once everyone goes through the front and backs of their eggs, whoever is left with an unbroken shell is the Egg Fight Champion! And this year the winner is.... (drumroll please)

ME!

(Don't mind the "have you taken the picture yet?" face... I really was excited!)

Grandpa put Bretton in the goat cart for a ride and it was just too perfect of a photo op...so we took it.

This One's For Our Girl!

For starters:
2 Words Ladies... HEART BREAKER!
This post goes out to Nicci who, despite all my desperate begging and pleading, moved to England last week. She is missing home, and her little B so here are some pictures for her (and all of you) to enjoy!

This pretty much sums up how we all feel about Nicci leaving

B in Nicci's sunglasses...
We told him one night that he looked just like daddy in his hat. He got a big smile on his face and left that hat on all night (which would have never happened previously) and insists on wearing hats all the time now.

If Bretton ever got too quiet, we always knew just where to find him...
in Nicci's room playing with her brush or ball or calling England. (True story)

At the Chinese Cultural Center for Nicci's last taste of Dim Sum before she left.
He would smell the flowers and then kiss them. I love this picture cause it shows him kissing the flowers.

Bretton and Grandpa Weitzell...Love these 2 guys!

"ish! ish! ish!"
(In case you were wondering what 2 little boys at the koi pond sounds like)
We went to Buffalo Wild Wings with Wendi, Chris and the boys as one of Nicci's "last American meals" and Bretton got this balloon, which he did not let go of the entire night. I'm talking like 3 hours strait he held on to that thing and only let go by accident in which case one of his cousins would fetch it for him and hand it back. We got in the car and insisted on holding the balloon so Chris gave it to him and he was asleep in literally 10 seconds flat!

Bretton's new face that he first started giving to Nicci.

Really... how do you say "no" to this face??
Classic

Bretton misses his Nicci. We miss her too. Love you Nic!

And He's Off!

It took a while getting there, and he has to think I'm still holding on to his shirt, but...

We're Walkin'!

(This is a video from my phone so the sound is not good, but there's not much to hear anyway.)

Random Happenings

Since these pictures always upload backwards, you are going to get the backwards story of the last few weeks.
Yesterday:
Bretton and his girlfriend Maddie after a long day of shopping.
These two are only 2 weeks apart, and may very well end up betrothed by their parents!

Thursday:
Brenden loved playing with sidewalk chalk. It was all over him!
His mom has taught him how to "pose" for pictures, so this is him posing with chalk.
He refused to look at the camera, but still felt it necessary to pose.

Feb. 28:
Went to the drags with Wendi, Chris and the boys.
Bretton was showing his true boy colors, loving every minute of the dirt and grime (he was black from head to toe when we got home), fast cars and toys to ride on.
He loved watching the cars drive slowly by on the way to the lanes. He watched very intently and would go "Oooooo."
Once again... he IS Chris's kid.

Ah, they joy a 4-wheeler brings!
He figured out the button to make it "go," so he was really riding it. Made his dad's day!

Chillin with Grandpa in the porch swing.

Feb. 24:
Yes, February 24th
It was warm enough to break out the water toy Bretton bought with his bday money.
They had fun, but the water was cold! Brenden didn't want to get out, Bretton didn't want to get in.

The sugar snap pea plant in my garden, which I am very proud of actually.
It has produced rather well, and I have not been very successful in the vegetable-growing department.

"Bubbles, Mom... bubbles!"
I hear this AT LEAST once a day from Brenden. (Yeah, he calls me Mom, but he also calls his dad Mom so I'm not reading too much into it)
Tippi gets in on the bubble action too. She likes to bite them. It really is entertaining.

Brenden posing again.
