Bretton 18 Months

I had a dream the other night in which I saw a picture of Bretton that melted my heart. It inspired me to do his 18 month pictures since I don't really have any good ones of him since he was 4 months old. Cheesy? Maybe... but they all ended up melting my heart because we have ONE CUTE KID! Enjoy!

This one below is the picture I saw in my dream

Bat the Ball Update

He's getting good!

and when it's too hot (which is all the time right now) to play outside...

(again... this one is from my phone... pardon the quality, or lack thereof)

Happy 18 months B!! Your Age is Showing!

For Bretton's 18 month birthday, he gave himself his first "have to see a doctor" injury.

He was at grandma and grandpa's at the time of the incident, but apparently he fell and hit the entertainment center just right and got a pretty good sized gash. I was on the phone with Tess when it happened and all I hear is "Bretton just fell... OH, HE'S BLEEDING! BYE!" Click.
........
You can't do that to a mom! Anyway, he was fine, but it was big enough that they thought he would need stitches so we met them at our friend's house, the Alexander's (he's a surgeon, he knows what he's doing). His uncle, who is also a surgeon but a well known plastic surgeon in CA happened to be there too. Anyway, they decided he was going to have a scar either way and he had already been traumatized enough so they wer just going to tape it shut. So I get there and my son is covered in blood, screaming and sweating like a pig....

Welcome to life with a little boy.

Bretton's First "Bat the Ball" Game

First off, just a cute picture of how much Bretton and Tippi love each other...

For Grandpa Epperson's Birthday, we all went to a Diamondbacks game. Bretton was loving every second of it!! There was a lot going on so he couldn't focus solely on the game but it was fun to watch him take it all in.

...and he ate about 1/2 of Grandpa's peanuts.

Artville @ The Arizona Museum for Youth

Bretton and I went to the children's museum in downtown Mesa with our friends Ashley and Nathan. It was so fun and they have some really great stuff for little kids to do when it's so blasted hot outside!

He figured out how to go down forward facing, but didn't figure out that you have to get up quickly or the next kid will kick you in the head.

These chairs were really cool. The canopy comes all the way down so it's like they're in a little pod or something.

WICKED!!

I lucked out BIG TIME this year! I got to go to Wicked TWICE!! I went with my mom, dad, grandma, Wendi and Chris, and my hubby of course, the weekend before my Birthday. Since we saw it in LA a couple years ago I have been dying to take my mom cause I knew she would love it... and she did! (Sorry, I'm lame and forgot to take any pictures with these guys)

Chris's mom had bought tickets with her mom and sisters and everyone on that side, but I couldn't cause I had already bought a ticket to go with my side of the fam. Well, the day they were going to go a couple of them couldn't so there were tickets already paid for and I couldn't very well let them go to waste! So I got to tag along and see one of the best shows EVER... again! I am one lucky girl!!

My favorite scene

If you've seen it, you know why!

The Girls!

Love you guys!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

It was like a month ago, but I'm just getting around to the post. It was a great birthday! My wonderful husband took the day off and spent it with me, then we had a "party" over at Chris's parents' and Tess made me an AMAZING Birthday dinner and cake. Oh, and the crown was the best part of all!

Camping... Again!

We had so much fun camping last time that we just had to go again... to the same place! We went with Wendi and Chris and the boys this time. Aaron and Brandee came up too. It was so fun, despite the trailer issues (totally other story, but grateful for the trailer use none-the-less), and we were really not happy that we had to come back!

Of course...

"Bat the ball" was played 'round the clock

The boys didn't realize how obsessed Bretton really is until they witnessed it first hand on this trip.

We attempted fishing at Woods Canyon (not as successful as last time, although we did catch a few crawdads)

Someone left this hat. We didn't know for sure if it was on purpose and they were trying to make a statement or if it really was just left but we thought it was kindof funny either way.

Ok, funny story. I might be a bad mom because I think this is funny, but hey... you have to laugh at little boy antics.

Bretton was riding is Power wheels quad and hasn't quite figured out that you have to stop before you run into something. He was headed straight for the table we had set up and we were all yelling at him to stop. He looked over at us just as he went right under that table and proceeded to scratch his face up on from the bottom of the table. It was kindof sad, but really funny at the same time.

The boys watching "Chicken Little" while it was down pouring rain. Bretton was really mad that we wouldn't let him go out and play bat the ball.

So, once again, a fun-filled family camping trip. Can't wait to go back!!
